match Report: Valiant Valencia CF return to winning ways amidst heartfelt tribute (4-2)
Heartfelt and valiant home win dedicated to the victims and those affected by the flash floods.
A proven project, in place since June of 2018, had its latest edition presented at the Mestalla VIP Box on Wednesday. The VCF Schools scheme for 2019, the main function of which is to scout and train young talents from the Valencia, Murcia and Castilla La Mancha regions for the VCF Academy, was unveiled by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy and academy director Luis Martínez.
Representatives of the 35 schools that form part of the project were present. These schools help train young players in optimal sporting conditions, under the supervision and control of Valencia CF.
"Last year, 53 young players came through our schools to join the VCF Academy, and this year we have 10 more schools with us," explained Murthy at the event.
"In the current market, in which there are transfers for fees of 120, 150 or 200 million, Valencia CF are never going to perform these types of operations. We are fortunate enough to be in a region in which there is talent," he stated.
Over the course of the club's history, many players have come through our academy system. Kang In, Gayà, Lato, Jaume, Ferran, Carlos Soler, and many more, are examples from recent years. We need to continue to work together. That will make us stronger. We are never going to change our academy policy, which is to bring in the best talents from the region. I hope that we are going to have success together in the present and the future."
Participating VCF Schools are CD Onda, Club La Vall, Torrent CF, UD Aldaia CF, Club Colegio Salgui EDE, CF Atlético Moncadense, CF Cracks, UD Alzira, Alboraya UD, CD Caxton College, Atlético Barrio de la Luz-Xirivella, CD Utiel, Atlètic Amistat, GPS Atlético Museros, FB Alfara del Patriarca, Ciutat de Xàtiva CFB, Atlético Lliria, CF Inter San José, CD El Planter, CFB Gandía, FEB Ontinyent, CD Benifaió, Ribarroja CF, FBCD Catarroja, CD Massamagrell, CF Històrics de Valencia, Club Deportivo Malilla abd Tavernes Blanques CF, Fútbol Base Denia, Benferri-Oleza, Kelme CF, Torrevieja CF, CF La Nucía, EFB Pinatar and FD Talavera en Castilla .
